Project Luangwa
2024

This innovative project repurposes four shipping containers into a sustainable sanctuary for volunteer teachers. The design features a radial arrangement around a central impluvium with a tranquil fish pond, capturing rainwater and cooling the space naturally. Each container serves a unique function: a communal area in the large container, and bedrooms and bathrooms in smaller ones, all integrating minimalist wooden interiors and sustainable elements like solar panels and planted filtration beds. The thatch roof enhances insulation and aesthetic appeal, while a circular raised platform connects indoor and outdoor spaces. This project exemplifies sustainable architecture, prioritizing space optimization, ecological integrity, and a harmonious connection with nature.
